Geschichte Wurmberg-Alm

Wurmberg Alm auf dem Wurmberg

The Wurmberg-Alm has a long tradition in Braunlage. Already in 1952 the first restaurant by Ursula and Oskar Wesche opened at the summit of the Wurmberg after the construction of the ski jump.

Back then there was only a small dining room in the middle of the jump tower and all the goods had to be carried up the mountain without technical aids, since there was no cable car or access road.

Over the years, the guest room was no longer sufficient for the growing stream of visitors, and in 1962 the so called Wurmbergbaude was built at the foot of the tower.

This location has steadily increased in the following decades. So when it was taken over by the current owners in 2008 it was modernized and finally renamed in Wurmberg-Alm.

Today you can find on the Wurmberg-Alm the „Panorama- Stadl“, a fireplace room, a club room, the sun deck- and après ski terrace.

The Wurmberg-Alm opens daily from 9:00 am - 17:00 pm.
